Special Filters

The neutral grey linear polarizing film is used in front of lights to reduce the glare caused by smooth surfaces such as glass, water, paper and certain me­tal­lic objects. It is especially effective when used in conjunction with a po­lar­iz­ing filter at the lens (cross polarization). It should always be placed at a dis­tance from hot lights.

Rosco’s Super Heat Shield filter is made from heat stable synthetic ma­te­ri­als. It deflects heat from the color filter, minimizing the effects of high temperatures. Properly used, it in­creases the life of color filters in very hot fixtures without reducing light transmission. It should be positioned between the lens and the color filter, allowing space on each side of the filter for the escape of heated air.
